| Meet the Central Regional Director |
Omar serves NLLSA as the Central Regional Director. Omar is interested in serving NLLSA in the Midwest by providing support and coaching Latino Law Student Association, LLSA, local chapters and serve as a liaison with NLLSA national board. He is currently a Third year law student at Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he works as a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Admissions and participates at various recruitment events oriented to increase minority matriculants at the Law School. Omar earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and before attending law school, Omar worked for a wide variety of financial institutions. During the 2010 summer, Omar interned for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office. In 2011, Omar interned at the Center for Economic Progress in Chicago, IL, and helped low income families solve their tax issues. Omar was born in Caracas, Venezuela but grew up in Bogota, Colombia. He immigrated to the United States when he was seventeen years old, and lived in the Northern Illinois area since then. After law school, Omar hopes to practice law in the Chicago land area and sometime in the near future start his own business. |
