My name is Diego Rondón Ichikawa, and I grew up in Venezuela, Portugal, and WA State. I graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in International Studies. After college, I worked for a cancer research organization in Seattle, WA, where I worked on interviewing Spanish speaking patients that suffered from cancer and other diseases. During that time, I volunteered in various organizations helping resettle newly arrived refugees and assist minority entrepreneurs receive micro-credit loans.

Currently, I am a second year law student at the Seattle University School of Law. Last summer, I worked at the Washington State Attorney General's Office, where I worked on employment and wage theft issues. I am the vice-treasurer of the Public Interest Law Foundation, a board member of the Latino/a Law Student Association, and a Staff Editor of the Seattle Journal for Environmental Law. Outside of school, I work with Comite de Defensa del Trabajador, where I help Spanish speaking workers reclaim their stolen wages.

After having lived in the Pacific Northwest for more than 10 years, I have fallen in love with Seattle and plan to practice law in the area. I'm interested in employment and immigration law, and I'm particularly interested in issues that affect the Latino/a community. As Regional Director for the Northwest, I hope to encourage communication and participation between Latino/a law students in the area.
