The North Atlantic Region of NLLSA and the Metro-New York LaLSAs made history on April 2, 2011 hosting "Pa'lante: Amplifying the Latina/o Voice in the Law".  This conference brought together over 150 students, including newly admitted law students, as well as dozens of presenters and speakers including representatives from the New York Supreme Court, LatinoJustice/PRLDEF, the HNBA, the NYCLU, the U.S. Department of Justice, and various regional law schools and national law firms.  A group picture was of course organized and plans to build on this momentum are already under way for 2012's conference.

The highlight of the conference was the spirit of opportunity and gratitude that was palpable throughout the day as generations of Latinas and Latinos acknowledged the momentous nature of this gathering in the light of today's challenges.  Collective appreciation to the representatives from New York Law School, Saint John's Law, Touro Law, CUNY Law, Seton Hall Law, Pace Law, Brooklyn Law, Hofstra Law, Rutgers Law, Columbia Law, Fordham Law, and NYU Law.  Un exito para nosotros y para los que vienen.
